Member Renewal
To renew your membership, present proof of residence to staff at the library; or, email salmolibrary@salmo.bc.libraries.coop with your full name, card number, and a photograph of official proof of residence (driver’s license with current address, phone bill with your name and address, assessment notice, bank statement, etc.).
Residents of our area: Salmo and RDCK Area G
SVPL offers membership to all property owners and residents within the Village of Salmo, the Community of Ymir, and Area G of the Regional District of Central Kootenay (RDCK). This is paid through household taxation.
BC OneCard
BC residents must present their home BC library card and photo ID to participate. There is a limit of 20 items borrowed from the Kaslo & District Public Library. Interlibrary loans are not part of this service.
Temporary Residents
For people who are in the area for six (6) months or less, they can signup for a temporary library card with a $50.00 deposit. They will be refunded $25 at the end of the 6 months. Please provide government picture identification with your home address and your temporary local address.
Library cardholders’ rights and responsibilities
You are responsible for all the materials borrowed on your card and for any charges on items that are overdue, lost, or damaged. (See Loan Periods and Fines for details). Your library card provides access to licensed databases from outside the library. You may also look at our catalogue from home over the Internet, and access your account to place holds, keep lists and renew items.
Lost or stolen cards
If you lose your library card, you are responsible for any items checked out on your card. You must report it as lost immediately and we will block the card so that no one can use it. There is $2.00 replacement cost for a lost card.
Change of address
It is important for us to have your current information. If you change your address or other personal information, contact the library and we’ll update your record.
