Friends of the Library
Who are the Friends?
The Friends of the Library organize fundraising and promotional events for the library. We are young and not so young, with a variety of interests and backgrounds. We love books, movies, music, and computers. We treasure the programs and services the library provides free to our community and we work hard to support and encourage the library’s development.
What do the Friends do?
The Friends organize fundraising activities, including two annual book sales, a Fall Fair bake sale, a lemonade sale and raffles. We also promote community awareness of the Library by organizing a monthly social the last Friday of each month, writing monthly newsletter articles, and creating a Canada Day float. The Friends volunteer in the Library to count patrons and wash books.
How do I join the Friends?
Anyone can be a Friend of the Library! Just complete the form available at the Library’s Circulation Desk and give it to the librarian on duty.
We look forward to meeting you!
