Offering ‘Library Takeout @ SVPL’
In order to provide physical materials to the community during this time, beginning Tuesday, May 19th, Salmo Valley Public Library will resume loaning library items for ‘Library Takeout’.
‘Library Takeout’ @ SVPL is a click or ‘call-and-collect’ service. Library borrowers can place holds on items via the library’s online catalogue at https://salmo.bc.libraries.coop/, by email at firstname.lastname@example.org , or by phone at 250-357-2312.
Members will contact the library staff, or place holds online, and staff will gather books from the shelves to be picked up by library members. When ‘Library Takeout’ orders are ready, materials are packed in bags. They then can be pick up at the pre-scheduled times in order to control the number of people coming to the library. Members will come to the library during the set time and staff will place ‘Library Takeout’ bags in a space designed for social distancing and for a contactless pick-up.
- Browse our online catalogue to find out what is available and at the library.
- Use our online form HERE to request items, or place a hold on an available item on your account, or call us at 250-357-2312 to get us a list of books you want to read.
- SVPL staff will find these for you and call you back to arrange a pickup time.
- Pick-up your items at your scheduled pickup time.
- Enjoy your materials!
When materials are returned to the library, they will be isolated for at least 72 hours. This way staff can quarantine, safely clean, and handle returned materials before re-loaning.
The pickup times will only be available during the times the members are told and those times will be set for some time on: Tuesday – Fridays: 12pm – 3pm
By following these steps, we are able to ensure that staff and library member’s health and safety are number one.
Staff are on-site and available to assist patrons with this and other library questions during the following days and times:
Mondays: 10am – 2pm
Tuesdays – Fridays: 9am – 4pm
The library values the safety of our community members and staff and we thank you for your patience during these times.
